Hello, I'm Pigeonduckthing, aka Rowyn Flowerdew, welcome to my historical art gallery site, I'm a Scottish hobby artist and lover of art, books, comics and history. This gallery is a collection of illustrations rooted in my amateur research in history, archaeology, and anthropology. The pieces here explore culture, ritual, dress, reconstrcted ethnic features, great historical figures and warfare of the past, through ink, pencil, and digital software. I try to ensure that every item, feature and piece of clothing I depict is inspired by real archeological artifacts or near contemporary depictions from the relevant historical period. I use mainly GIMP and free opensource stuff, my art is creative commons, feel free to share!.
